Security Manager – WECA (Africa)

Job Description

We are excited to be working with a long-standing client of ours once again. They are a household brand in the FMCG space, with global operations and an industry leading global security function, made up of talent from all walks of life.

They are bolstering their West, East and Central African Region with a Senior Security Manager. This is an important region for the business, with crucial infrastructure, trade routes and business operations, that also has a diverse threat landscape. Naturally, they are looking for an experienced professional that will manage all aspects of crisis management, business continuity and physical security, supported by the wider team and vendors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and implement effective security strategies for the region, taking into consideration threats/risks from organised crime groups, natural disasters, supply chain security, travel etc.
  • Continue the development of business continuity and crisis management plans. Maintaining strong working relationships with vendors, local law enforcement agencies, emergency response and indigenous leaders.
  • Build and foster working relationships with outside security directors and keep up to date with industry trends.
  • Advise and consult on and during security incidents, including travel briefs, analyse security intelligence and perform ad-hoc risk assessments.
  • Conduct investigations into loss prevention, anti-counterfeiting, insider threat, workplace violence and corruption.

Key Skills:

  • Experience within a Security, Crisis Management or Intelligence function within the region.
  • Strong ability to create documentation for presentations to varied target audiences.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, with deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Experience developing and implementing security and crisis management strategies.
  • Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the business, from vendor contractors to executives.
  • Experience in FMCG or the Manufacturing industry would be considered beneficial.
  • Fluency in English, another local regional language is a plus.
  • Experience in Law enforcement or Military services is considered a benefit but not essential for success.
