We have been retained by a leading global Consumer Goods firm, working with them to identify a Senior Investigations Manager to join their dynamic team.

Prospective candidates will be experienced investigators with a background in law enforcement, military, government, corporate or consulting and a good understanding of the business. Experience in the Consumer Goods space would be additive and you will have demonstrable line-management experience & capability, including with quality assurance.

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role? 

The role will undertake Standards of Business Conduct investigations (SoBC) across the organisation, as required, including but not exclusively those arising in the ‘Centre’.

This role will provide oversight, support and guidance to other Investigations Managers, driving quality assurance, timely completion of investigations, and ensuring consistency of practice and high standards of investigation and reports in line with Group procedure. The Senior Investigations Manager, as a subject matter expert, will lead on the maintenance and continuous improvement in the e-discovery programme, training colleagues in investigative practice, and, together with other team members, contribute to maintenance of best practice in the Centre of Excellence.

In general, the post-holder will plan, execute, lead and/or oversee investigations, internal reviews and analysis into possible violations under SoBC.

  • Line manage and provide oversight, support and guidance to the wider team, ensuring consistency of practice and high standards of investigation in line with Group procedure.
  • Fulfil a quality assurance role in the conduct of investigations, their timely completion and reports.
  • Development of wider team members, including coaching / mentoring of the wider organisation.
  • Lead interviews with reporters, witnesses and subjects in investigations allocated to the Senior Investigations Manager.
  • Collect, preserve, schedule and disclose evidence (digital, accounting and hard copy documents), ensuring the chain of custody is properly documented.
  • Assimilate and interpret a multitude of data sources, information and facts to determine if allegations have any substance.
  • Ensure that all data is processed, reviewed and handled in accordance with company data privacy policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare factual and evidential written reports to support internal and third-party reviews (civil and/or criminal action), testifying as required in disciplinary and/or legal proceedings.
  • Coordinate work performed by external investigation contractors when needed.
  • Consult colleagues as required (notably the Head of Corporate Compliance and Regional Heads of Compliance), Case Managers and stakeholders as required
  • Contribute to relevant projects and forensic work streams in the development of process.
  • Implement investigation strategy for evidence preservation, forensic examination and analysis.
  • Build, manage, and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders including providing regular progress updates and advice, as and when necessary.
  • Promote and embed legally compliant and ethical investigation practice.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects/work streams whilst contributing to the continuous development, and delivery, of investigation procedures and protocols.
  • Support the development of policy and practice for the conduct and management of investigations.
  • Support the maintenance of the Group Security Investigations Manual
  • Contribute as required to cooperative working with legal and external law firms.
  • Contribute to and deliver the requirements for investigations training for practitioners and contribute to awareness training at all levels by the team.

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Experienced in using analytical tools including MS and eDiscovery tools.
  • Exemplary personal integrity, good judgement and understanding of proportionality and a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent active listening, communication and interpersonal skills with clearly demonstrable emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent report- writing and presentation skills; comfortable and confident in briefing at a senior level
  • Innovative and professionally agile with an inclusive and flexible style and willingness to receive and provide feedback.
  • Detail-oriented, independent thinker with excellent analytical skills, able to handle multiple cases concurrently.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to multitask in a fastmoving environment.
  • Comfortable and confident engaging with and briefing senior decision makers on progress and key findings.
  • Team player who can build strong working relationships, both internal and external to the company.

Beneficial

  • Solid experience examining forensic & electronic evidence and working with computer and accounting forensic specialists.
  • Experience of complex evidence preservation, consistently applying information management and disclosure principles.
  • Experienced in using eDiscovery tools.
