Senior Manager, IT Disaster Recovery

Location: Kuala Lumper (relocation will be supported)

Job Description

We are working with a major multinational financial services firm.  As a result of their fantastic growth, they are looking for a Security and Resilience Senior Manager to join this multinational financial services firm! You will report to their Director of Resilience and implement and drive the Group-wide IT Disaster Recovery (DR) standards, programmes and functions, within the Group Security & Resilience team.

Responsibilities 

  • Implement, review, and maintain risk-based standards, procedures, and templates for responding to disruption in IT operations.
  • Support 1LOD Local Business Unit (LBU) teams to identify, manage and report IT resilience risks appropriately, including developing local plans, testing, and compliance with Group IT Disaster Recovery standards.
  • Oversee LBU IT DR drills in accordance with Group Standards and regulatory frameworks, ensuring that findings, remediations and lessons are documented.
  • Monitor active IT DR incidents, and deliver status and situation reports to management.
  • Conduct post incident wash-up reviews and compile lessons learned, issues addressed, and improvements made post-incident.
  • Report findings, remediations and lessons learned to management.
  • Provide regular status updates to the LBU 1LOD and Group 2LOD IT DR Resilience teams.
  • Deliver IT DR training to LBU 1LOD IT DR personnel and teams to ensure standards are implemented according to regulatory and Group Standards.
  • Support 1LOD teams to effectively manage IT DR infrastructure resiliency risks, in coordination with relevant technical teams.
  • Work closely with all members of the Group Security & Resilience team and Group IT Operations, Technology Risk Management (TRM) teams, and LBUs.
  • Liaise with the Third-Party Risk Management teams to ensure appropriate IT DR resilience checks are incorporated into the procurement risk assessment process.
  • Support IT DR Programme implementation and report to management and stakeholders. Serve as a member of the IT DR Working Group.
  • Collaborate and serve as the key point of contact for liaison with IT DR stakeholders, LBUs, external business partners and key IT stakeholders to set recovery point objectives and recovery time objectives for critical IT applications and systems and ensure that IT technologies and processes support all key availability and recovery requirements and testing.

Person Specification

  • 5 years or more relevant experience in IT Resilience and Disaster Recovery, and (preferred) at least 3 years in 2LOD or 3LOD role.
  • A relevant technical degree, as well as relevant professional certification(s) such as MBCI/CBCI/CBCM/CBCP/EDRP and/or has other relevant technical certification around Cybersecurity, Cloud or Technology Risk Management.
  • Preferred industry – Financial, Consultancy or Tech (Digital Banks/Fintechs etc)
  • Experience in implementing and overseeing risk-based standards, processes, and procedures for responding to disruption in IT operations in at least three or more of the following areas:
    1. IT Disaster Recovery
    2. IT infrastructure management
    3. IT operations (e.g., data centre management, backup, batch processing, incident, and problem management)
    4. Third party risk management
    5. Technology risk management
    6. Cybersecurity (e.g., NIST framework, security operations)
    7. Experience in ‘Cloud’ and new technology domain risk management, and Cloud and new technology domain business continuity management.
