Job Description
Our client is a Crisis, Risk and Resilience management consultancy, with a global team of experts that cover all aspects of their client’s, corporate security, security intelligence, risk mitigation and crisis management strategies. They are looking for a Security Manager to manage the security operations team based out of Vancouver, Canada. You’ll be managing a small team of talented professionals, so you should be able to guide and develop others in a professional capacity.
They are ideally looking for someone with a Military or Intelligence services background, with some recent experience in a corporate environment, that is eager to develop their skills further in a dynamic role.
Responsibilities:
- Champion the company’s best practices and values.
- Oversee a team of security professionals in the security operations centre, including all aspects of people management.
- Identify and implement improvements to internal training programs and strategies.
- Serve as an expert on security procedures and assessments, acting as an escalation point for high-risk situations, providing ongoing support to field teams, and ensuring adherence to best safety and security practices.
- Build/ leverage a network of trusted contacts throughout the region.
- Develop client accounts, deliver training sessions, create risk and crisis management plans, and conduct security audits for clients.
- Provide support in escalated cases, including after-hours when necessary, to assist other teams and ensure the protection of people, assets, and information.
- Offer valuable insights into regional risks by collaborating closely with intelligence teams.
Experience:
- Strong leadership skills, passionate about teamwork and able to motivate teams rather than just relying on hierarchy.
- Military or Intelligence services experience.
- Corporate security or Security management services experience.
- Experience interacting with senior stakeholders or in a client facing position.
- Strong written and verbal communications.
- Great working knowledge of international markets, have a good understanding of the threats/ challenges in multiple regions.
- Experience developing crisis management, business resilience and security plans.
