The Role

Our client is a leading organisation in the consumer foods space. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting personnel, assets, and reputation across their UK and Ireland operations, comprising factories, distribution centres and head offices.

You will lead the development and implementation of effective security strategies, policies, and procedures to manage risks and prevent incidents, this is truly a varied and engaging environment!

What will you be doing?

You will work closely with both external and internal stakeholders, offering guidance and support to the Security Champions network in implementing security measures such as physical security, access control, and information security protocols. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including HR, Legal, and IT, you will ensure a comprehensive approach to security risk management and compliance. Your role will involve ongoing monitoring and analysis of security incidents and trends, with a focus on recommending improvements and strategies for risk mitigation.

You will also;

·      Regularly perform risk and vulnerability assessments to pinpoint potential security threats and areas of weakness.

·      Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to strengthen security capabilities and keep abreast of emerging threats and trends.

·      Oversee physical security measures, including access control, CCTV surveillance, and perimeter protection systems.

·      Lead incident response initiatives to ensure prompt, effective handling of security incidents, conducting thorough investigations to determine root causes and apply corrective actions.

·      Stay informed of relevant security laws, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring compliance across all operations.

·      Partner with the Head of Security to align with and implement the Group Security strategy.

·      Conduct routine assessments and audits to identify security gaps, developing targeted action plans to address any vulnerabilities effectively.

Who are you?

·      In-Depth Knowledge of Security Principles: A solid understanding of security principles, protocols, and technology is essential, including expertise in physical security, access control systems, information security, risk assessments, and incident response.

·      Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyse complex security issues, identify vulnerabilities and risks, and design effective solutions is critical.

·      Strong Communication and Collaboration: Clearly communicating security policies and guidelines to team members at all organisational levels is a vital skill for success.

·      Adaptability and Continuous Learning: The security field is ever-changing with emerging threats and technologies. Effective Security Managers remain adaptable, continuously learning and staying informed on best practices, regulations, and new trends.

·      Attention to Detail and Risk Awareness: A sharp eye for detail and a thorough approach to risk assessment are essential for managing security effectively.

·      Ethical Standards and Integrity: As a protector of assets and safety, maintaining high ethical standards, confidentiality, and integrity is fundamental to building trust and credibility in the role.

Please note that this role requires travel to various sites, with two overnight stay per week.
