Health & Safety Manager – Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)

Our client is a genuinely global fashion retailer, who are growing out their H&S function and now recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to support their operations across the EMEA region.  The role will be initially for 12 months, with the possibility that it will extend beyond that.  This is a hybrid position based out of central London, with some international travel to be expected.

As the Health and Safety Manager you will oversee all aspects of occupational health and safety, develop a well-rounded safety culture and ensure compliance with various regulations across the region. You will be working closely with multiple business functions to identify opportunities to improve on the business’ H&S operations.

Main duties

• Act as the H&S SME for the region, creating new policies and procedures that align with the business’ vision.
• Continuously improve upon H&S operating procedures, ensuring an effective feedback loop with incident management and local H&S workplace regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations across EMEA (focused heavily on the UK and mainland Europe).
• Collaborate with multiple teams, gaining buy-in from all levels of the business from store operations to senior stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver training for all levels of the business.
• Manage workplace injuries and follow up with an investigation process.

Key skills

• Experience in a similar role and experience within a H&S function within the Retail sector.
• Effective communicator, able to build relationships and influence decision making with all levels of the business.
• Experience developing health and safety frameworks.
• Experience in achieving compliance with local workplace regulations across Europe as a minimum, ideally across EMEA.
