We are very excited to have been retained by this large multinational business, working closely with them to identify their new Global Head of Security & Business Resilience. Reporting to the Global Head of HSSE, the Global Head of Security & Business Resilience is the most senior security executive accountable for the management and direction of corporate security, emergency preparedness, threat intelligence, and crisis management and business continuity management across the company.

This role has a genuinely global remit and covers the full spectrum – including crime prevention, physical security, travel security, Duty of Care, threat intelligence, risk assessments, crisis management, business continuity management, investigation, VIP security, incident reporting and compliance.

The role will work closely and in collaboration with other business functions, divisions and operating companies and their security teams. The scope includes all aspects relating to corporate security and business resilience, ensuring development of and compliance with best practice and international standards, customer expectations and internal minimum requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough and current knowledge of security and business resilience (S&BR) practices, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Pragmatic thinking about improving S&BR practices.
  • Remain current with the capabilities, service standards, and equipment of various vendors that supply security equipment and services.
  • Ability to translate technical topics into terms that are meaningful to more general audiences.
  • Detail oriented self-starter who can influence across functions and diverse stakeholder groups. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the evolution and assurance of the security and business resilience programs.
  • Collaborate with functional, Divisional & Operating Company leaders to set business specific goals, strategies and improvement plans in support of the business priorities, including provision of SME services.
  • Apply innovation to all aspects of security management to enhance tactical and strategic threat intelligence and optimise operational efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and assure global tools such as integrated security systems, incident reporting systems, and event escalation protocols.
  • Functional leader for global security teams and service providers, working with local operations and functional teams on coverage and application of policies and procedures and Voluntary Principles.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with key personnel within government agencies and with other global security contacts and serve as primary contact for personal security of key business leaders.
  • Research, identify, track, and monitor emerging security threats, geopolitical issues, and trends which could impact company operations and where appropriate proactively communicate potential security threats to Executive Leaders and manage response.
  • Develop and implement resilience plans for employee asset and product protection in crisis situations.
  • Establish and implement global guidelines on travel security risks.
  • Lead the development of crisis management plans, facilitate related training and exercises (e.g. tabletop simulations), and maintain appropriate records.
  • Advise on security and business resilience risks associated with facility, design, and security architecture for site projects and M&A.
  • Provide intelligence support for executive protection, whether residential, facility related, or for travel.
  • Develop and implement physical security practices for theft/fraud prevention.
  • Direct the tracking and reporting of security metrics.
