European Security Lead

Job Description
We are excited to be working with one of the largest FMCG corporations in the world who are looking for an European Security Lead for their European operations. You will be responsible for formulating, executing, and overseeing the company’s security strategy throughout the region. Reporting to the VP of Supply chain Europe, you will be provide guidance to the business units and leadership of the company on all security-related matters, ensuring the protection of our client’s brand, assets, employees, and information.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement a robust strategy to identify and address current and future security risks and threats. Ensure the implementation of mitigation and prevention strategies to protect company assets, personnel, and reputation. Regularly report progress and accountability to the European Leadership Team.
- Ensure the existence of clear security policies, standards, and procedures. Communicate these effectively to employees and ensure their understanding and compliance. Manage site Business Security Coordinators to facilitate implementation.
- Perform regular security audits at all company and identified third-party locations. Address any non-compliance issues promptly and work towards continuous improvement. Identify and develop capital/expense budgets for security projects.
- Oversee the relationship with third-party security consultants and contractors across all locations. Ensure they meet key performance indicators (KPIs), maintain external benchmarks, and follow an outside-in approach.
- Develop and deliver a Duty of Care program that continually reviews international risks for employees traveling in the region. Establish and enforce appropriate controls to support employee security while traveling.
- Direct the approach, deployment, and execution of internal and external investigations across the region. Collaborate closely with Legal and Internal Audit departments and provide regular reports on investigative matters.
- Develop close working relationships with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and private sector counterparts. Represent the company in court cases when necessary.
- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise as a core member of the Regional Crisis Management/Incident Management Team. Develop crisis management response strategies, identify necessary resources, and execute responses to serious security incidents.
Requirements:
- Exhibit strategic thinking abilities and strong problem-solving skills. Must have the capacity to influence decision-making processes.
- Possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within a large multinational organization.
- Previous experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry would be advantageous.
- Experience working in the region’s markets and the ability to travel extensively. The position requires regular and extensive travel commitment from a base location at a regional hub.
- Preferably, with a background in law enforcement. A security qualification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) is preferred.
