As Director, Global Security & Resilience Operations, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of the strategic leadership, management and performance-driven security operations team including all associated enterprise services and frameworks globally. These will deliver business-relevant and risk proportionate Corporate Security solutions for security operations in support of brand integrity, crisis and business continuity management, operational resilience, physical security assurance and technical design to protect GSK’s people, places, and products globally.
This role is reporting directly to VP, Head of Corporate Security. The role will also deputize for VP and provide strategic leadership and oversight to support the overall functional approach and ensure solutions are relevant and proportionate to business needs.
Key areas of focus in line with GSK’s Innovation, Performance and Trust pillars:
- Senior internal/external stakeholder partnership to shape GSK’s Global Security risk mitigation strategies aligned to Enterprise Risks and Business priorities.
- Senior executive leadership crisis management training.
- Security ops support to GSK’s Brand Integrity strategy.
- Security ops support to Global real estate management and infrastructure planning.
- GSK’s global Security Services Contract.
- GSK’s global travel security risk management program ensuring delivery of GSK’s legal duty of care to staff.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the Corporate Security service delivery and performance strategy complementary to GSK’s objectives to protect and enable GSK’s people, places and products.
- Shape competitive cost and risk proportionate service strategies and drive performance aligned to global security plan to ensure GSK continues to protect GSK’s people, places and products whilst building trust with employees, business partners and external security agencies.
- Provide subject matter expertise and assurance to Senior Leaders regarding the level of security in their business area and recommend best course of action to maintain proportionate and pragmatic security levels.
- Support global readiness levels to ensure continuity of operations and limit the risk associated with crisis resilience.
- Recognise the importance of managing risk effectively ensuring suitable prioritisation and timely completion of Corporate Security activities, including short notice response to crisis situations, to protect the assets and employees of GSK globally.
- Provide oversight and leadership of key enterprise security risk management programs and engagements to enhance business decision-making capabilities – regular reporting to GSK’s General Counsel and other program sponsors.
- Lead the Executive Response program – train Exec Crisis leadership teams.
- Provide guidance and thought leadership to consistently review service management policies, guidelines, and processes in collaboration with peers and business partners whilst managing stakeholders to ensure service enhancements based upon customer feedback and experience.
- Lead and inspire Corporate Security teams to deliver high value-add implementation services including alignment of GSK’s crisis continuity and brand integrity planning activities to risk priorities.
- Deputize VP Corporate Security as necessary and remove roadblocks to success and act as an escalation point for executive decisions.
Financials:
- Establish and control revenue and expense budgets incl. global governance of GSK’s on-site guarding partner across multiple international markets.
- Manage service deployment costs to ensure deliverables are executed to budget and forecast plan.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and typically 15 years of senior level experience in Security Risk Management Leadership and Service Delivery within both the public and private sectors incorporating high risk/threat operations.
- Minimum of 5 years security and investigations risk management service delivery experience in the corporate sector.
- Minimum of 15 years Programme and Change Management experience.
- Proven track record leading complex global projects, clients, partners, and organisations simultaneously from business development to final delivery.
- Demonstrated success of implementing security solutions within a commercial environment Proven track record of establishing strong, executive level customer relationships.
- Proven track record of establishing strong, executive level customer relationships.
- Proven experience leading and inspiring remote resources and large global teams.
- Linkage to external senior stakeholders (Intelligence Services, Law Enforcement, Military, Security Peers).
- Interpersonal skills and communication skills are essential to work with diverse internal and external global contacts.
- Former roles which have demonstrated leadership and the ability to manage across a matrix organisation.
- Clear understanding of Management Frameworks to coordinate standards and procedures.
- Proven experience in planning and coordination.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and facilitation skills. Exceptional communication, team building and mentoring skills.
