Job Description

We are excited to again be working with a niche technology and risk management firm that, as part of their continued growth, are looking to identify a versatile and motivated Security Intelligence Analyst.

The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering, evaluating and analysing information from a variety of open-sources, public databases, third-party intelligence providers and geographic information systems. The analyst will leverage technology to develop analysis functions, automate workflows, enter data, process information and visualize knowledge. Intelligence data will be used by the analyst to anticipate and inform clients on security events; such as acts of terrorism, social unrest, industrial action, regulatory changes, operational disruption or criminal activity. Versatility and flexibility in role and working conditions is important.

 

Specific responsibilities:

  • Use open-source research tools to fill security information collection requirements
  • Identify security risks; provide effective advice and recommendations to clients
  • Perform security analysis using satellite imagery and open-source research resources
  • Provide clients with tailored and timely security threat information and risk analysis
  • Author incident specific security intelligence alerts via open-source research methods

 

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have at least one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, global security or international relations
  • Military, law enforcement or professional training in intelligence
  • 1-3 years’ experience of commercial intelligence analysis or risk assessments

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Familiarity in political, terrorism, security and/or operational risk analysis techniques are a plus
  • Applied use of geographic information systems and emerging analytical modelling tools
  • Strong knowledge base of current global geopolitical landscape
  • Confidence to speak out in groups of people and to share ideas
  • Humility to accept the input from others and to learn at every opportunity
  • Ability to deliver sustained value when working independently with little supervision
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; efficiently meet tight deadlines
  • Sound organizational skills and adequate technological savvy for dealing with large datasets
  • Superb written communication skills and the ability to conduct in-depth open-source research
  • Use logic and reason to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternate solutions to problems
  • Understanding of analytical systems functions and how changes in conditions affect outcomes
  • Aviation sector experience is a plus
