Job Description
Our client is a growing, industrial manufacturing company with a sizeable footprint across Romania. As their business continues to grow, personnel safety and security remains a top priority and are now looking for a dedicated Security Manager to lead the programme across Romania. Their diverse operational footprint encompass 50+ sites across Romania, including major manufacturing sites, logistics centres, warehouses, corporate offices and other engineering locations.
As the Security Manager for Romania, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing security operations across the national sites, developing a cohesive and professionalised security strategy. Reporting directly to the National Director with support from the Regional Security Director, you’ll be working closely with internal stakeholders, including HR, Compliance, Health & Safety and the rest of the Corporate Security team, as you drive the optimisation of security practices across the various business units.
The incumbent for this position will bring a good mix of hard and soft skills.
- Hard skills – Ensuring the protection of all assets though meticulous security measures, developing and implementing new security policies, leading investigations across all layers of the business, as well as demonstrating strong business acumen by delivering ROI.
- Soft skills- Being able to negotiate with and build relationships with various service providers, developing trust with internal members of the team, and deliver well thought out, actionable training programmes, tailored to the target recipients.
Main Duties
- Develop and implement security operating procedures and best practices, bolster physical security measures, manage technical security (access control etc.) and develop training programmes to raise the level of security awareness in the business.
- Build effective response protocols and emergency response plans.
- Oversee relationships with security service providers, optimising contracts for economy of scale and quality. Ensure that adequate vetting is conducted.
- Manage CAPEX budgeting for all security measures across the region, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Investigate security incidents, collaborating with legal and compliance teams.
- Manage industry specific risks, from loss prevention to corporate fraud and activism.
- Support the development of case building processes to foster effective, mutually beneficial relationships with law enforcement.
Key Skills
- Experience in a Corporate Security structure, ideally within the Engineering, Manufacturing or Energy sector.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional proficiency in Romanian and English is essential.
- Ability to balance shifting priorities.
- Hold a valid Driving License and willing to travel across the country and occasionally internationally.
- Experience in military or law enforcement services is considered a plus but not essential for success.
